Silva Espadas is a Latino/Chicano-pride streetwear brand — think acid-wash tees, embroidered crewnecks, and denim jackets, priced noticeably higher than most streetwear ($42 tees, $60–65 crewnecks and hoodies, $198–248 denim jackets). Before spending that much, the obvious question is whether their sizing runs true. We read the fit language on every clean, non-trademarked apparel listing in their live catalog to find out.
How we chose
We pulled Silva Espadas's full live catalog on August 29, 2026 (119 products). Their catalog includes a number of items using unlicensed sports-team logos and cartoon references that we excluded from consideration entirely — see our first Silva Espadas piece for more on that. That left 45 clean apparel items (tees, crewnecks, hoodies, jackets) — we read the fit notes published on each one rather than guessing from the product name.
The short answer: true to size, not small
Across the 45 clean apparel listings, 34 explicitly say "true to size" in their own product copy. Zero say "runs small." Some pieces do carry conditional advice — but it's about styling, not fit problems:
- 10 listings say something like "true to size; size up for oversized styling" — a style preference, not a correction
- 5 listings (all oversized-cut tees) say "size down if you want a standard fit" — again, a styling choice, since these are cut deliberately loose to begin with
- 3 listings are labeled "oversized fit" outright, with no ambiguity about the cut
In other words: nothing in Silva Espadas's own copy suggests their garments come out smaller than expected. If a size runs differently, it's because the design itself is cut oversized on purpose, and they say so upfront.
Size range, by category
| Category | Items checked | Size range offered |
|---|---|---|
| Tees | 21 | SMALL–3XL on most styles |
| Crewnecks | 8 | SMALL–3XL on most styles |
| Hoodies | 4 | SMALL–2XL |
| Denim jackets | 9 | SMALL–2XL (some styles run to SMALL–LARGE only, single-batch pieces) |
There's no size below SMALL published anywhere in the catalog — if you normally wear XS elsewhere, expect Silva Espadas's SMALL to be your closest option, not a true XS equivalent (we can't confirm that without a published body-measurement chart, which Silva Espadas doesn't publish).
No inch measurement chart — here's what we could and couldn't verify
Unlike some streetwear brands we've covered, Silva Espadas does not publish a body-measurement or garment-measurement chart (in inches or cm) on its product pages. What they do publish, on 38 of 119 products, is a short line of fit language (true to size / oversized / relaxed) plus, on a smaller subset, fabric weight. We're reporting exactly what's published — we did not estimate or invent measurements to fill that gap.
A handful of listings do publish fabric weight in GSM, which at least tells you how substantial the fabric itself is, even without a body-measurement chart:
| Item | Fabric weight | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Frida Hoodie | 340 GSM | $70 |
| More Than Immigrants Hoodie | 290 GSM | $65 |
| Hijo De Mi Chingona Madre Crewneck | 280 GSM, 80% cotton | $60 |
| Remix Oversized Tee | 230 GSM | $42 |
| Cielito Lindo Tee | 200 GSM, 100% combed ringspun cotton | $42 |
Only 7 of 45 clean apparel items publish a GSM figure, so we can't generalize this across the whole catalog — but where it is published, these are heavier-than-average tees (200–230 GSM is on the thicker end for a T-shirt) and mid-weight hoodies.
Frequently asked questions
Does Silva Espadas run small?
No language in their own product copy says so. 34 of 45 clean apparel listings say "true to size,"
and zero say "runs small."
What's the smallest size available?
SMALL, across the catalog. There's no XS option published.
Does Silva Espadas publish a measurement chart?
No — not in the sense of a body-measurement or garment-measurement table. They publish short fit
descriptions (true to size, oversized, relaxed) instead.
What's the largest size available?
3XL on most tees and crewnecks; 2XL on hoodies and most jackets.
Is the acid-wash finish consistent between sizes?
Silva Espadas's own product copy says the acid-wash finish is done by hand and "every piece comes out
slightly different" — that's a stated design choice, not a sizing issue, but worth knowing before you
order a specific look expecting an exact match to photos.
Methodology and limitations
This guide is based on Silva Espadas's own published fit language and size-option data, read from their live product catalog on August 29, 2026 (119 products total, 45 clean non-trademarked apparel items considered). We have not tried on any Silva Espadas garment ourselves and can't confirm fit in person. Stock, pricing and available sizes reflect a single snapshot and change constantly — confirm current availability before ordering.
