Jamroc Dept. and Silva Espadas are both culturally-rooted streetwear brands — Jamroc built around Jamaican and Caribbean identity, Silva Espadas around Latino and Chicano identity — sold direct with real affiliate programs. Beyond the obvious design difference, they diverge sharply on size range, fabric transparency, and price. Here's what the live catalogs actually show.
How we compared them
We pulled both brands' live catalogs on August 29, 2026 — Jamroc Dept. (245 products) and Silva Espadas (119 products, of which we excluded 34 for using unlicensed sports-team or cartoon references, leaving 45 clean apparel items for comparison).
The quick verdict
Pick Jamroc Dept. if you want:
- ✅ A much bigger size range — 19 of 245 products reach 5XL and 14 reach 6XL, versus Silva Espadas's 2XL–3XL ceiling across its whole catalog
- ✅ Published fabric weight on most products — GSM figures are common across Jamroc's catalog
- ✅ A larger catalog overall — 245 products versus 119 (85 relevant once Silva's flagged items are removed)
Pick Silva Espadas if you want:
- ✅ Lower hoodie/crewneck prices — $60–80 versus Jamroc's $120–165
- ✅ Latino/Chicano-specific design work — a different cultural lane entirely from Jamroc's Caribbean focus
- ✅ Real denim construction — Silva Espadas sells actual denim jackets; Jamroc's outerwear is fleece and nylon varsity-style

Size range
| Jamroc Dept. | Silva Espadas | |
|---|---|---|
| Reaches 5XL | 19 of 245 products | 0 of 45 clean apparel items |
| Reaches 6XL | 14 of 245 products | 0 of 45 clean apparel items |
| Smallest size offered | 2XS on 51 of 245 products | SMALL (no XS equivalent found) |
This is the clearest gap between the two. If you wear above a 3XL, Jamroc Dept. is the only realistic option of the two — Silva Espadas doesn't publish anything above 3XL on tees/crewnecks or above 2XL on hoodies and most jackets, and only a minority of Jamroc's own catalog reaches 5XL/6XL, so even there it's worth checking the specific product page rather than assuming every Jamroc style goes that high.
Fabric transparency and price
| Jamroc Dept. | Silva Espadas | |
|---|---|---|
| Tee price | $34–85 | $42–45 |
| Hoodie/crewneck price | $120–165 | $60–80 |
| Denim jacket | Not sold — Jamroc's outerwear is fleece/varsity style | $198–248, genuine denim |
| Fabric weight (GSM) published | On most heavyweight hoodies (400–530 GSM common) | On 7 of 45 clean apparel items (200–340 GSM where listed) |
Jamroc Dept.'s hoodies run considerably more expensive, but the brand backs that up with published GSM on the large majority of its heavyweight pieces — you can usually see the exact fabric weight before buying. Silva Espadas publishes weight on a much smaller slice of its catalog, so for most of its products you're going on the brand's general description rather than a number.
Who should buy from Jamroc Dept.
- ✅ You wear above a 3XL — Jamroc's size range goes considerably further
- ✅ You want to see the exact fabric weight before buying a hoodie
- ✅ Caribbean/Jamaican design work is what you're after
Who should buy from Silva Espadas
- ✅ You want a lower hoodie/crewneck price — roughly half of Jamroc's
- ✅ You want an actual denim jacket, not fleece or nylon outerwear
- ✅ Latino/Chicano design work is what you're after
